Woman Awakes To Rain Of Blows By Hammer-Wielding Ex

Police are looking for a man accused of attacking his former girlfriend with a hammer and then stealing her car outside of Kirkland Monday morning.

King County sheriff's deputies said the man broke into the woman's home in the 13700 block of 134th Avenue Northeast and attacked her in the bedroom around 3 a.m. as she slept.

Deputies were called to the scene after neighbors heard the 41-year-old victim screaming.

When deputies arrived the assailant was gone, along with the victim's car, police said.

The woman's 14-year-old daughter was at home at the time of the attack. Police said both girl and the victim recognized the attacker as Milord Gelin, 33. Gelin weighs 185 pounds and is 5 feet 5 inches tall.

The man entered the house through the garage, police said.

The missing car is a white 2003 Mitsubishi Montero SUV, with license plate No. 675-SGG.

Anyone who sees the car is asked to call the King County Sheriff's Office at 206-296-3311 or 911.

The woman was transported Evergreen Medical Center for her injuries.
