Seattle Man Killed, 4 Others Injured In Oregon Crash

An 83-year old Lake Forest Park man died and four others were injured Wednesday night in a two vehicle head-on crash on Highway 101 south of Cannon Beach, Ore.

According to Oregon State Police Sgt. Andrew Merila, at 7:30 p.m. a 1994 Volvo driven by 83-year-old Charles E. Nilson was heading northbound on Highway 101 when it crossed the centerline and crashed head-on with a 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche pickup with two occupants.

Nilson was pronounced dead at the scene. His 79-year old wife Carol Nilson and 53-year old daughter Debra Nilson were transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup, 64-year-old Tom Watson, and his 62-year old wife, Sydnee Watson, both from Walla Walla, were transported to a hospital.

Watson was seriously injured. His wife suffered non-life threatening injuries.
