Heavy Rain Leads To Flood Worries In Western Washington

The National Weather Service has issued flood warnings and flood advisories for parts of western Washington after heavy rains hit the region.

A flood warning was issued for the Skokomish River near Potlach in Mason County. Forecasters said the river should reach flood stage around midday on Saturday.

Only minor flooding was forecasted with the river cresting around flood stage then falling below flood stage later in the day, KIRO 7 reported.

A flood advisory was issued for much of western Washington, including parts of Jefferson, Island, San Juan, Clallam, Skagit, Whatcom, Mason, King, Kitsap Pierce and Snohomish counties.
