SEATTLE -- Prosecutors charged a woman Monday, accused of running a brothel in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood.According to charging papers, 28 year-old Kaiyana McCloud was in charge of the escort service which was run out of the 14th floor of the McGuire Apartments on Wall Street.Residents at the building told KIRO 7 they had no idea the operation was going on, but employees there said they saw strange men entering the apartment at all times day and night. Prosecutors said the men would usually stay for less than an hour.Seattle police staked-out the apartment and when a man came out, they asked him what he was doing there. He said he went there for sex, prosecutors said.He told the undercover officers he found the brothel online at a Web site that advertises various women as escorts in several U.S. cities, but the contact information has a local number.Prosecutors said three undercover officers made "appointments," and each was offered a sex act in exchange for money.A female undercover detective also applied for a job online and was told she could make $200 to $300 per customer, prosecutors said.McCloud was charged with three counts of promoting prostitution. Prosecutors said she has admitted to running the brothel.
