Fake Cops Kidnap Managers, Rob Fast Food Restaurants

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. -- Two men posing as police officers are culprits in a series of robberies at fast food restaurants in Pierce County in which victims are pulled over by a car with flashing police-type lights and kidnapped.In three different incidents, restaurant managers have been pulled over by a vehicle with red and blue flashing lights shortly after closing and leaving their restaurant, police said.
SLIDESHOW: Fast Food Robbers Caught On CameraTwo men wearing bandanas over their faces approach the victim’s vehicle, display guns, and then handcuff the victim. One man drives the victim back to the restaurant and then forces the victim to unlock the doors, open the safe and give the robber cash while being held at gunpoint.It is believed the second robber picks up the first robber at the restaurant after the kidnapping and robbery.The incidents occurred:
- Sunday October 25, 2009, 2:30 a.m., at the Burger King on Mountain Highway in Graham- Friday October 23, 2009, 3:15 a.m., Wendy’s on Hosmer St. in Tacoma (ATTEMPT)- Monday October 5, 2009, 12:40 a.m., McDonalds on Steilacoom Blvd. in LakewoodThe robbers used vehicles described as a dark newer SUVs and an older black Honda with tinted windows. The vehicles had red and blue lights on their dashboards.Both men are described as white, 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with thin builds.During the kidnappings and robberies, the men wore dark hooded sweatshirts, dark hats, bandanas, gloves and have been armed with handguns.Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and charges filed for the persons in this case.
