Hogan's Blog: 'Halloweekend' Look Ahead

Happy Friday morning! It's Halloween Eve and since we don't want you spooked on your commute here is what you have to look forward to on the road this weekend. This morning the DOT cameras are showing us some shiny roads but no where near the puddling we had yesterday. We will let you know if anything pops up.

Here are the things that may have slowed you down Friday morning:

520 Floating Bridge: Noticing slowing eastbound on the bridge. Can't see anything on the DOT cameras. May have been a disabled that moved. TIME: 6:52am

Dupont: Collision blocks the left lane of northbound I-5 at Steilacoom-DuPont Road. The center and right lanes are open. (via WSDOT) TIME: 6:46am UPDATE: Dupont- 6 miles of backup northbound approaching I-5 left lane still blocked via @WSDOT_tacoma. TIME: 6:58am

The Steilacoom II completed repairs and is back in service with the 6:30am departure from Port Townsend via @wsferries. TIME 6:28am

Tacoma: Rain changes SR 509 closure: SR 509 closes in Tacoma from 11 p.m. Sat., Oct. 31 to 4 a.m. via WSDOT Mon., Nov. 2. TIME 6:25am

Alderwood: I-5 south ramp to I-405 ramp, one vehicle being assisted by WSP. Over on the left shoulder. 6:00am

Overnight Construction: I-405 through Renton, southbound I-5 to I-90 ramp should be wrapped up by 5am.

Weekend Construction: Weather forecast has changed the SR 509 closure in Tacoma to begin Oct. 31 at 11pm to 4am Monday Nov. 2. Motorists should expect delays and congestion, especially near Port of Tacoma Road. Take I-705, I-5 and Port of Tacoma Road as an alternate route via WSDOT.

Saturday
Eastern Washington University plays Portland State University at Qwest Field. Kickoff is 1:05 p.m. Skillet in concert at the ShoWare Center in Kent. The concert begins at 7 p.m.
