Laser Flashed At Plane Approaching Sea-Tac

Posted: 9:39 am PDT October 30, 2009Updated: 9:52 am PDT October 30, 2009

Someone pointed a laser at a plane headed for Sea-Tac Airport Thursday night, the FAA said.

FAA officials said someone flashed a red laser at a Horizon Airlines plane on final approach about three miles north of the airport.

The plane landed safely at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

About 30 planes were flashed earlier this year at Sea-Tac. Port of Seattle police and federal agencies have been investigating.

A person shining a laser at an airplane could be charged with interfering with the duties of an air crew.
