ROCHESTER, Wash. -- Arbie Groninger of Rochester has a messy problem."It builds up real quick. We have fruit flies coming in and out of here," said Groninger. The two weeks' worth of trash is so messy that it's spread into his garage.Normally his trash goes inside two garbage bins. But Groninger said the bins are gone now because the garbage collectors took them away."They say they picked them up by accident. We'd asked them to return them and they said it would take weeks.""They" being LeMay Incorporated.Between Groninger, his wife and their five kids, their garbage situation started to grow out of control. Their trash attracted insects, started to smell and put family plans on hold."We've had to plan birthday parties away from the house to keep from building up more trash," he said. And it's not like they could put their garbage outside. The Groninger's live off a busy highway. So they decided to hold on to the trash until new bins arrive. But now Arbie is running out of room so he called KIRO 7 Consumer Investigators for help.Quinlan decided to pay a visit to LeMay in Centralia to see about getting Groninger his bins back.LeMay told KIRO off camera that this was simply a communication problem. They assured us this was an isolated incident and promised to deliver new bins that day.Quinlan returned to the Groninger family to deliver the news.Quinlan: "I've got some good news for you!. We talked to them and the manager is going to bring over the bins this afternoon."Groninger: "Outstanding! Wow."Quinlan: "You'll have an extra pickup on Wednesday and your usual one next Wednesday.Groninger: Thank you very much! I appreciate it! I'm sorry it got to this point."And sure enough, by 4 p.m. that same day LeMay followed up with their promise. They delivered two new garbage bins to Groninger's house.LeMay says they're not really sure what happened to the bins. They tell us they've had a problem in the area with people stealing trash cans.If this should happen to you, call your garbage collector directly. If you still don't get answers, email us and we'll be glad to help.
