Kitsap Fatal Fire Ruled Homicide

The Kitsap County Sheriff's Department has ruled Saturday's fatal fire in Bremerton as a homicide.

A Kitsap woman was killed in the early morning mobile home fire.

Theresa MacLennan with Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue said that the fire broke out in a single-wide mobile home at the Illahee Mobile Home Park around 6 a.m.

Firefighters arrived to find flames shooting high into the air, MacLennan said.

Fire crews had to lay over 800 feet of hose to the closest fire hydrant.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Kitsap County Fire Marshal's office with assistance from the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office.

The coroner has advised that the body is that an adult woman, whose identity still has yet to be confirmed.

The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office continues with the investigation into the woman’s death. It has now been classified as a homicide investigation.

The sheriff’s office is not releasing additional information at this time. Further information may be made available to the public when determined by the sheriff’s chief of detectives.
