14-Year-Old Boy Accused Of Stabbing At Bainbridge High

Police said a 14-year-old boy stabbed one student and attempted to stab another at Bainbridge High School Monday, police said.

Witnesses told police the 14-year-old approached a 17-year-old Bainbridge student, confronted the student and then stabbed the victim in the upper arm with a small folding knife.

Police said the attacker, a Woodward student, then confronted another student and swung the knife at him. The second victim told the 14-year-old to put the knife down. When the attacker put the knife down, the other boy tackled the 14-year-old but the boy broke away and fled the school.

Police responding to the call found the boy and took him into custody.

The boy was booked into the Kitsap County Juvenile Detention Center on suspicion two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

Police do not know the motive for the attacks.

Detectives from the Bainbridge Island Police Department ask anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information about the incident is asked to contact Detective Trevor Ziemba at 206-842-5211.
