Fires Set At 2 Businesses In Greenwood

Posted: 4:21 am PST November 5, 2009Updated: 1:13 pm PST November 5, 2009

Fires were set early Thursday morning at two buildings in Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood near the scene of an unsolved arson that destroyed four restaurants last month, firefighters said.

Fire Department spokeswoman Helen Fitzpatrick said the fires were likely set by the same person and that investigators are still looking at whether they also are linked to the Oct. 23 fire in the same neighborhood.

The latest fires burned the exterior of an accounting office and the Rosewood Guitar shop, causing a total of about $25,000 damage. No one was hurt.

Bill Clements of Rosewood Guitar said quick work by firefighters prevented flames from burning inside the building and damaging instruments.

An unsolved arson fire on Oct. 23 in the same neighborhood destroyed four restaurants and caused $2 million damage.
