A man walking his dog Thursday night was killed when a tree fell on him.

Shoreline Fire spokesperson Melanie Granfors says the man and his wife were walking their dog in Hamlin Park in the 16000 block of 15th Ave NE around 7PM.

That's when a tree fell, a portion of the tree hitting the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The weather was windy at the time, according to Granfors.

The man's identity has not yet been released.
