Posted: 6:30 am PST November 8, 2009Updated: 6:51 am PST November 8, 2009

Heavy snow has forced the Washington State Department of Transportation to close SR 20 at Diablo, and both Chinook and Cayuse passes.

SR 20 will be closed for avalanche control from milepost 132 at Diablo to milepost 171 at Silver Star Gate, until approximately noon Monday.

WSDOT is also trying to determine when Chinook and Cayuse passes can be reopened, KIRO 7 reported.
