Whatcom Middle School Students Head Back To Class

Bellingham, Washington -- Many students are finding out where they'll be in school this week after flames tore through Whatcom Middle School in Bellingham last week.The fire chewed through the roof of the historic structure Thursday. There's no word tonight what sparked the flames, but fire investigators are taking a look at welding that was being done on the roof as part of a seismic retrofit.Beginning this week, 8th graders at Whatcom Middle School will go to Bellingham High. 7th Graders will attend Fairhaven Middle School. 6th graders will head to Geneva Elementary.There will be more details about bus schedules and transportation routes Monday night during an informational meeting.That meeting is set to start at 6:30 at Bellingham High School's Theater.
