Hoquiam Bear Seen Snacking On Apples

HOQUIAM, Wash. -- A Hoquiam police sergeant took pictures of a black bear devouring apples on Tuesday near where other people have reported seeing a bear in recent few weeks, police said.Sgt. Shane Krohn took the pictures in the 600 block of Orchard Drive early Tuesday morning. Monday evening, a bear was seen in the area of Washington Court, west of Lincoln Street and above Grand Avenue, police said.Fish and Wildlife agents set up a trap near Tennis Court after residents in that northern Hoquiam neighborhood reported seeing a bear, but the bear has so far avoided the trap, police said.
