Disoriented Mystery Man Resurfaces In New Mexico

Posted: 10:08 am PST November 11, 2009

A man who turned up wandering around Seattle last summer without a clue to his identity has resurfaced in New Mexico in the same situation.

Psychologist and international business consultant Dr. Edward Lighthart suffers from dissociative amnesia.

Lighthart emerged from Seattle's Discovery Park in August frightened and confused.

He was treated and released from Swedish Medical Center after learning his name and his past.

A few days ago, police in Las Vegas, New Mexico found Lighthart roaming the streets with just a passport and an old European ID.

He told authorities he can't remember who he is, how he got there, or any of the details he told KIRO 7 when he was found in Seattle.

"This is one of the most hellish things a person can go through," said Lighthart.

Lighthart is reportedly in good health.

The 53 year-old is being monitored at the New Mexico State Hospital while doctors try to determine what they should do with him.
