A car with two people inside collided with an Arlington school bus Friday afternoon.

Four students were on the bus at the time of the crash, but they were not seriously injured, said Washington State Patrol Trooper Keith Leary. The bus driver, a 44-year-old woman, suffered an elbow injury.

The driver of the car was initially said to be in serious condition and the passenger in critical condition, but later officials said they just had minor injuries.

The driver of the car, a 21-year-old Arlington man was traveling east on state Route 530 when he crossed the centerline near Whitman road and collided with the left side of the bus.

He told troopers he does not know why he crossed the centerline.

The driver sustained leg, hip and knee pain. His passenger, a 21-year-old man from Marysville, sustained a wrist injury and head laceration.

Both men were transported to Cascade Hospital by ambulance.

The crash happened shortly before 4 p.m. east of Oso.

Leary said the driver will be cited for crossing the centerline.

No drugs or alcohol were involved.
