The Washington State Patrol responded to dozens of accidents due to icy roads Saturday morning.

Trooper Keith Leary said that most of the accidents were one- and two-car collisions, on roads near Alderwood Mall and near Lynnwood, KIRO 7 reported.

On northbound SR 525 at Interstate 5, a trooper and sergeant were investigating a collision between a car and a barrier.

Suddenly a Ford Expedition came along, hitting the barrier and pushing the patrol car into the trooper and sergeant. Neither officer was seriously hurt, Leary said.

In another accident, a sanding truck collided with a car. Neither driver was seriously hurt.
