Power Still Out For Some In Grays Harbor County

ABERDEEN, Wash. -- Some customers are still without power in parts of Grays Harbor County due to high winds Monday night and Tuesday morning.Crews have been working nonstop trying to restore electricity after the powerful storm battered the coast.Northwest part of the District north of Hoquiam: Grays Harbor PUD has restored power to almost all of the substations providing electricity to the area. Approximately 212 customers remain without power in the Bernard Creek area. In addition there are scattered outages throughout the northern part of the district due to storm damage. North Aberdeen, Wishkah, Arnold Hill, East Aberdeen areas: PUD has restored power to the substation serving the area. There are still scattered outages throughout the area. Grays Harbor City west of Hoquiam: Crews are continuing to work to restore power to approximately 200 customers impacted by the outage. The work is under way.KIRO 7 reporter Richard Thompson said a home in Copalis, north of Ocean Shores, was sliced in half by a tree. The homeowner and his son were able to get safely out of the house without being injured. Without power, schools were cancelled Tuesday in several Grays Harbor school districts including Ocean Shores.
