Convict In Italian Murder Accuses Amanda Knox

Posted: 12:22 pm PST November 18, 2009Updated: 1:11 pm PST November 18, 2009

The man who was convicted of killing Meredith Kercher is appealing the decision and said he heard Amanda Knox yelling at Kercher before her death.

Rudy Hermann Guede was convicted shortly after Kercher's slaying in a fast-track trial in 2007 and sentenced to 30 years in prison.

He testified Wednesday that he heard Knox arguing with Kercher about money before she was killed at their apartment in Perugia, Italy.

Guede says he found Kercher bleeding, panicked and fled. He was arrested in Germany and linked to the crime by fingerprints and DNA.

The prosecutor said Guede's story is not credible and his conviction should stand.

Closing arguments for the former University of Washington student and her former Italian boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, are scheduled to begin Friday.

A verdict in her trial is expected next month.
