Domestic Violence Services Saved From King Co. Budget Cuts

SEATTLE -- Sexual assault and violence services in King County have been saved from the King County budget cuts.Despite a $56 million budget gap, county council members Wednesday said they are restoring $1.4 million to services like the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center.Council members freed up the money by ending the county's role in animal shelter services months earlier than planned.Next year, they'll consider asking voters for a tax increase to support human services.
