Felon Found With Arsenal Of Firearms, Deputies Say

Thurston County sheriff’s deputies responding to reports of shots fired in a Lacey-area neighborhood arrested a convicted felon and seized 37 firearms Wednesday, reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

Deputies said eighbors called police after hearing shots at about 6 p.m. Wednesday. Deputies arrived in the 400 block of Viking in the Tanglewild neighborhood near Lacey and witnessed a man in the back yard with a shotgun and evidence that weapons had just been fired, police said.

Police said the man, who was later identified as Raymond Jetmore, went into the house and then came back out unarmed.

Deputies obtained a warrant to search the home and discovered 37 different firearms inside, authorities said. The weapons included sniper style rifles, hunting rifles, shotguns, handguns, an assault style semi-automatic Tec-9 Pistol, and clips capable of holding 100 rounds of ammunition.

Jetmore, who was released from prison three months ago after serving a sentence for burglary, is a felon and not legally allowed to possess firearms.

He was booked into the Thurston County Jail on 37 counts of a felon in possession of a firearm.

Thurston County sheriff’s deputies said they are trying to determine where the weapons came from, if any are stolen, and what Jetmore intended to do with the guns.

Neighbors contacted Thursday by KIRO 7 believe at least some of the weapons may belong to Jetmore’s mother, who also lives at the home. Neighbors told KIRO 7 that Jetmore has struck them as very unstable since he has been living with his mother.

Neighbor Sarah Wheeler said Jetmore pounded on her door on Christmas night and accused her of shooting a pellet gun at his house. Wheeler said Jetmore paces up and down the street at nights exhibiting very odd behavior.

Detectives tell KIRO 7 Jetmore has a lengthy criminal history including assault, burglary, drug possession and other crimes and that he has been in and out of jail since 1984.

The Sheriff’s Office asks anyone who has information about how Jetmore may have come into possession of any of these guns or if he has tried to sell anyone firearms is asked to call the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office at 360-786-5500 or Crimestoppers at 360-493-2222.
