1 Person Shot On Renton Street Corner

Police are searching for the gunman in a drive-by shooting in Renton Thursday evening that left a 24-year-old man critically wounded.

The victim was walking with two other people near 104th and Petrovitsky Road at about 6 p.m. when shots were fired from a passing car, police said.

Before police knew the shots came from a vehicle, officers converged on the scene and began searching for the gunman with a police dog.

The victim's mother, who did not want to give her name, said she has no idea who shot her son.

"I just recently had a heart attack. This is … really taking a toll on me, really, truly it is," she said.

The victim went into surgery Thursday night. There was no information Friday on his condition.

Police said they do not believe the shooting was random.
