The arrest happened last night near Centralia.

Witnesses reported seeing a truck weaving in and out of traffic, and that the driver was drinking a beer.

Arrest reports say that empty cans of beer were found in the vehicle, along with a "plethora of mints," that the driver was trying to consume once he realized that he was being pulled over.

According to arrest reports, Officer Joseph Mettler blew a .14, well above the legal limit for DUI, which is .08.

Officer Mettler had an initial court appearance today in Lewis County, where he plead not guilty to charges of DUI, and not wearing a seat belt.
