CENTRALIA, Wash. -- A woman whose seven children were taken away because of filthy living conditions in her Centralia home says she's cleaning up her house and wants her kids back.Kristy Price said she's been cleaning the home since police took her children away last Sunday when investigators found garbage on the kitchen floor, dishes piled up everywhere and rotting food on countertops.WATCH IT: Mom Shows KIRO 7 Cleaning Progress On Friday, the garbage was gone from the floor. There still were some dirty dishes but it was evident that Price had been cleaning. But piles of dirty clothes police photographed Sunday were still sitting in the laundry room and there are swarms of flies in many rooms. Price says they came with the house."I've had flies since day one. Ever since we moved her we've had flies," said Price.Price's mother died of cancer a week ago. She said that's part of the reason she has been struggling. Detectives said in addition to filthy living conditions, they have evidence Price recently failed to get two of her children emergency dental work. Price says she is going to keep cleaning her home and is prepared to do whatever is asked of her to get her children back.Police are recommending that Price be charged with criminal mistreatment. The investigation is continuing.
