Fleeing Beer Thieves Knock Down, Slam 74-Year-Old Woman Into Car

Police say three men knocked down and slammed a 74-year-old woman into a car as they fled an Everett grocery store with stolen beer last month.

Everett police responded at 3 p.m. to a Safeway store at 4128 Rucker Avenue for a report of an assault and theft of beer.

When officers arrived, they found the Everett woman lying on the ground with a head wound.

She was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police learned that three men ran from the store after shoplifting beer. Store surveillance video showed the men run out of the store. Two of the suspects ran into the woman, who was outside with her shopping cart, knocked her to the ground, dragged her several feet and then slammed her into the rear corner of the suspects' waiting getaway car.

Video showed two men and a driver flee in the car. One man, who was left behind, was seen running after the car and away from the scene.

Police describe the suspects as two white men and one black man who are all in their late teens or early 20s. The suspects' car appears to be a white four-door Ford Taurus with a dent in the right rear quarter panel. There is no description of the getaway driver.

Anyone who can identify the suspects is asked to call the Everett Police Department tip line at 425-257-8459.
