Washington State's Supply Of Flu Vaccine About To Run Out

The state Department of Health has distributed

92,000 doses of flu vaccine to high-risk children so far this

season and has about 10,000 left -- a supply that could run out as

early as next week.

"We're OK for now, but when we're out, we're out," said Donn

Moyer, a spokesman for the Health Department, which supplies flu

vaccine only for high-risk children.

Health officials say they're not sure how much vaccine is

available for healthy children and adults.

"We're already into December, and there's been a lot of vaccine

requested," said Matias Valenzuela, spokesman for Public Health --

Seattle and King County. "It's not surprising supplies are down,

but we don't foresee running out."
