TACOMA, Wash. -- The mother of a boy attacked by a pit bull in Tacoma says the dog should be destroyed.
Sheila Roe fought back tears as she remembered the first moments she saw her son lying in the middle of Roosevelt Avenue after being attacked by a neighbor's dog.
"He was scared to death, bawling, crying -- scared to death," she said. The dog left red marks all over the boy's body. Anthony said he was walking home when the pit bull charged."He was running at me and I tried yelling at him to stop and then I started running and then he jumped at my leg and bit me and I fell down and then he bit me in the back," Anthony Grosso said. The dog dragged him and bit him three times. Eyewitnesses said it was only when a Pierce Transit bus driver honked his horn that the dog let go."The law should be changed. If a dog bites a child or anyone, they shouldn't have a chance to bite somebody else again, ever," Roe said.Anthony was treated at Mary Bridge Hospital. The pit bull's owner declined an interview with KIRO 7 Eyewitness News, but neighbors said he agreed to quarantine the dog in Puyallup for 10 days.
