Olympia Teen Critically Injured In Crash

Olympia, WA -- A 18-year-old was critically injured in a traffic accident in Thurston County.The accident happened around 2:30 this afternoon when the driver of a 2005 Toyota failed to stop at stop sign and was struck by a Ford Explorer.State Patrol investigators say when the teen's Toyota was forced through a fence, a wooden post flew through the windshield and hit him in the head.Brandon J- Shartzer of Olympia was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.Two female passengers in the Toyota sustained injuries and a male passenger was not hurt.The Ford's driver and his wife were taken to Capital Medical with minor injuries.
