Two New Accusations Surface Against Spokane Mayor

SEATTLE -- Two Seattle men have come forward with new
allegations against Spokane Mayor Jim West.
Brad Crelia told The Spokesman-Review he was a 15-year-old
student at Spokane's Lewis and Clark High School when West asked
him out. It was 2001 and West was state Senate minority leader.
The other man said he was sexually abused in 1980 when West and
a friend -- a fellow Spokane County sheriff's deputy named David
Hahn -- took a group of Boy Scouts on a 50-mile hike around Mount
Rainier. The man -- 12 at the time -- says Hahn molested him in a
tent. He says he asked West to move him to anorth tent.
The man -- a professional who asked not to be identified by name
-- says West did nothing to help him. In the man's words -- quote
-- "He told me to forget it."
Hahn committed suicide a year later, in 1981.
West has been embroiled in controversy since the
Spokesman-Review newspaper last week reported allegations of child
sex abuse against West. He is also accused of misusing his office
to meet young men in a gay Internet chatroom.
