EDMONDS, Wash. -- Ferry workers sprang into action after riders spotted a kayaker flailing in Puget Sound just off Edmonds Tuesday evening, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.
The young kayaker, who was not wearing a life jacket, was struggling to stay above water when the captain of the Puyallup stopped the ferry and workers raced an inflatable boat to the sinking kayak."They were really quick," said Robert McCarthy, a witness. "I was amazed at how fast the captain got the ferry stopped and the boat out of the water."
