Fatal Car Accident On SR 97 Near Omak

SEATTLE -- A 68-year-old woman was killed on state Route 97 in Okanogan County near Omak Tuesday when a "pin" from a piece of heavy equipment apparently fell off a truck and smashed through the windshield of the car.The pin hit the victim, who was driving, killing her instantly, causing her car to swerve into the other lane and striking a trailer of a second vehicle.The passenger in the car with her and the driver of the second vehicle were not injured.
