SEATTLE -- A monorail driver has been fired because of the crash that took both of Seattle's monorail trains out of commission. The driver of the Blue train, which was arriving at Westlake Center when it collided with the Red train, was fired Tuesday. The driver's name was not released."They have to do literally hundreds of trips back and forth, and while we have protocol to deal with this sort of thing, he just zoned out as far as we know. It was definitely a human mistake," said Stu Rolfe of Seattle Monorail Services. The driver of the Red train was suspended immediately following the Nov. 26 collision, but is now back on active status. It's unknown how long the mile-long monorail line will be out of service.
