Mudslide Cancels Amtrak And Sounder Service North From Seattle

Amtrak service north and south of Seattle is shut down because of high water, heavy winds and a mudslide.

Service by Amtrak Cascades between Seattle and Portland is canceled through Monday evening. Service is down through Monday afternoon between Seattle and Vancouver, British Columbia.

Train service to Los Angeles and Chicago will originate in Portland and Everett. The railroad said it would provide alternative transportation for passengers scheduled to ride the train on its canceled trips.
