Police are looking for a man who was wearing a Pittsburgh Steelers shirt when he attacked a Seahawks fan outside a Port Orchard supermarket on Sunday, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

Police said J.J. Meland was punched because he was wearing a Seattle Seahawks jersey.

"His team won, (so) he should be happy. Why should he be coming around and beating people up that are going grocery shopping?" asked Beth Randle, Meland's girlfiend.

Randle said the attacker first approached the couple as they walked into the store and he followed Meland, shouting about the Steelers' win over the Seahawks.

When the couple walked outside, he was waiting for them and followed them to their car.

"And that's when he just cheap-shotted him right in his face, and he went down on his knee, and he hit him two more times," Randle said.

Meland suffered multiple fractures of his jaw, which will require surgery.

HOW TO HELP

The attacker, who was seen wearing a Pittsburgh Steelers' fleece pull-over, ran away.
