BURIEN, Wash. -- Authorities think they know the identity of a woman in her early 30s who was found dead in Burien on Monday afternoon. The King County Sheriff’s Office said an autopsy was performed Tuesday morning. Police are waiting for an official identification from the Medical Examiner’s office.A man walking through the woods in an area of Burien spotted the body about 1 p.m. The crime scene is in an isolated area about a quarter mile from a major intersection.Investigators said it appears the body was dumped several days ago. Deputies are collecting evidence and taking crime scene photos. They have been checking into missing persons cases.People from the area were unnerved by this new find, because the wooded area of Des Moines Memorial Drive where the body was found was a former dumping ground for the Green River Killer.
