Repairing damage from the collision will be finished this summer, he said.A new automated stopping system to prevent a similar collision will be complete by winter, he said. In the meantime, only one train at a time will run on the mile-long track between Seattle Center and Westlake. The repairs will cost between $3 million and $4 million, but most of the bill will be covered by insurance. The 43-year-old elevated line's two trains collided Nov. 26 when the Blue train, which was arriving at Westlake Center, side-swiped the Red train at a narrow spot in the tracks. The collision was blamed on the Blue train's driver, who was later fired.
