A Seattle police motorcycle officer escaped injury in a traffic accident Wednesday.

Spokeswoman Debra Brown said the officer had left the cycle for a traffic stop and it was unoccupied when it was hit by another car.

Brown said an aid car was called for the driver of the car but the injury did not appear to be serious.

Video from Chopper 7 showed medic units at the scene. Aerial video showed crews taking someone out of the car and putting the person on a stretcher.

The accident took place about 11:30 a.m. on West Marginal Way Southwest, near the Duwamish River.
