Lakewood Police Face Criticism Over Missing Girl Search

Police conducted an extensive search last December in Lakewood for a missing ten-year-old girl.

But they were criticized at a community meeting Thursday night for failing to search the empty lot where the girl's bones were found this week.

Police Chief Larry Saunders said the overgrown lot about two miles from the girl's home was not searched four months ago because it was not considered a very likely spot to find her. Tracking dogs showed no sign she might be there.

In hindsight, Saunders told the Lakewood meeting he wishes police had searched the lot.

Investigators are now going over every inch as they look for evidence in how Adre'anna Jackson died. She disappeared December second while walking to school.
