When fire crews arrived at about 12:30 a.m., towering flames and billowing smoke poured from the 1973 motorhome.

Patrons at a nearby nightclub saw the bright flames and raced to the scene. Some said they saw a man and a woman running away. Investigators have no idea how the fire began. They hope the two people who were in the motorhome can provide clues.

A witness who talked to the couple said they told him they didn't want any attention.

"They came across and went into the Shell station and the guy just kept walking and the lady stayed around for a little bit. I came out and asked if she was OK. She got a cigarette from me and said they both had warrants, and took off," said James Dean.
