Once on the catwalk, the man told workers he was a drug addict, suicidal, and had hit rock bottom.

The man argued with workers before trying to break past them.

The workers tackled the man and were able to get the knife away from him.

Workers surrounded the man while they waited for police assistance.

The man stood up and continued to talk to workers before he attempted to break past them again.

Workers again lunged at the man and held him down until a state trooper arrived.

State Troopers eventually climbed up the catwalk and took him down to safety. No injuries were reported.

After the man was under control, he was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

The 29-year-old is facing trespassing charges for the incident.

The man had apparently called 911 at least twice before the incident, saying he was depressed and wanted to end his life.

The Bridge building company, Tacoma Narrows Constructors, is now reviewing the incident and their security procedures.
