Lewis County Woman Survives Jolt Of Lightning

Posted: 12:35 pm PDT May 23, 2006

A Lewis County woman was jolted by lightning in her home near Winlock Sunday, reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

Delyn Andersen told KIRO she was working outside when a storm hit. She went inside, where she thought she'd be safe.

But when Anderson grabbed a wet rag to clean off her TV screen, another lightning bolt struck outside.

“I just remember the jolt and the zaps through the bottom of my feet. I was dazed and couldn’t stop shaking. It was hard to talk because I was ‘aaagghh,’” said Andersen.

Officials said it was likely the woman got jolted with electricity channeled from a nearby lightning strike.

Anderson said she was still a bit shaken but physically, OK.
