Rapes On Decline In Seattle Area

The FBI’s latest crime statistics show a drop in rapes in Bellevue, Seattle, and Tacoma, Wash.

As far as other crimes reported in the 2005 FBI Uniform Crime Report, results vary.

Bellevue has seen an increase in murders and aggravated assault but theft and robberies have declined.

Crime in Seattle and Tacoma continues to rise.

Burglaries have dropped by 14 percent in Seattle but that was the only decrease noted among crimes listed in the report.

Violent crime has declined in Tacoma but like the other cities, crimes involving theft and robberies have increased.
