Paul Shawcross, an administration adviser on science and space, announced that the "Death Star" won't be a part of the U.S. military's arsenal any time soon. The Death Star, he said, would cost too much to build — an estimated $850 quadrillion.
Besides, Shawcross said, the Obama administration "does not support blowing up planets."
"The overwhelming military superiority of the Galactic Empire has been confirmed once again," the blog post read.
"It is doubtless that such a technological terror in the hands of so primitive a world would be used to upset the peace and sanctity of the citizens of the Galactic Empire," Governor Wilhuff Tarkin of the Outer Rim Territories was quoted as saying in the blog post. "Such destructive power can only be wielded to protect and defend by so enlightened a leader as Emperor Palpatine."
