Seattle May Drop Moratorium On New Strip Clubs

SEATTLE —

The city of Seattle might drop a moratorium on opening new strip clubs.

Survey: Should Seattle Lift Ban On New Strip Clubs? Should the city of Seattle lift its 15-year ban on new strip clubs? Yes. No. Not sure.

A city council committee says it's time for the full council to make a decision instead of extending a moratorium as it has for 15 years.

A city panel says current policy may create monopolies and could leave the city open to lawsuits.

If the moratorium is dropped, it could mean competition for four clubs now operating in Seattle.

The issue goes to the council Monday.
