Dr. Margaret Hall, whose video reports appear here on kirotv.com, has been honored as Outstanding Health Care Professional of 2012 by Seattle Business magazine.

Seattle Business honored 21 of the state's health care leaders and organizations at a ceremony last week in Seattle.

Hall, Chief of Cardiology and Medical Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Northwest Hospital in Seattle, took an unconventional track on her career journey, the magazine said in its profile, noting that she married young, became a wife and mother, and then pursed medicine after her former husband was diagnosed with cancer.

“It gave me a whole wealth of life experience that most physicians don’t have,” she told the magazine.

The magazine said Hall tries to build consensus and focuses on empowering patients by helping them to better understand their bodies and, in turn, helping them be better prepared to query their doctors.
