KINGSTON, Wash. —

One person was killed and another was rushed to a local hospital after an early morning crash between Kingston and Suquamish.

North Kitsap Fire and Rescue crews were called to crash on Miller Bay Road near the intersection of Orseth Road at 4:38 a.m. Monday.

Crews found a car that had crashed into a power pole.  One person was dead at the scene and a second person was injured.

Firefighters attempted to get an Airlift Northwest helicopter to transport the survivor of the crash, but weather conditions prevented the chopper from flying.  The victim was transported to Harrison Hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

A stretch of Miller Bay Road was closed during the investigation.
