PUYALLUP, Wash. —

Family and friends are marking the first anniversary of the disappearance of Susan Powell, a Puyallup native who vanished from her Utah home on Dec. 7, 2009.

Powell's friends and family will be helping with a gift-wrapping event for Washington State Santa Cops, a local group of police officers who deliver presents to children in need.

Organizers said the event, at an old Chevy dealership on River Road in Puyallup, will honor Powell's dedication to volunteerism and community service.

Police have said her husband, Josh Powell, is the only person of interest in his wife’s disappearance. Detectives have been stymied by a lack of evidence and no new leads.

Susan Powell's parents echoed that frustration on the CBS "Early Show" Tuesday morning.

"I don't know where my daughter is," said Charles Cox, Susan Powell's father. "I can't do anything more that I have done, and I'm doing everything I can do to help find her, and there's the frustration of what actually did happen to her. Is she alive? Is she not? And when are we going to know and have some closure? It's a daily thing for us that we live with."

Josh Powell has denied having any to do with his wife's disappearance.

Last month, he told The Salt Lake City Tribune that Susan may have run off with another man who went missing from Utah about the same time last year.
