SEQUIM, Wash. —
Detectives with the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people on Friday in connection with the February killings of two residents near Sequim, according to officials.
The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office said Tammi Michelle Petersen and Tom Lee Dale were booked into jail after being arrested on suspicion of rendering criminal assistance to John Loring, who is suspected of killing Raymond J. Varney and David Randle.
According to police, Loring died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside of a Port Angeles apartment complex in February.
On Friday, deputies and detectives worked with the Sequim Police department to issue a search warrant in the 100 block of Roupe Road, where Dale and Petersen were arrested, said officials.
The sheriff’s department said Petersen was arrested on additional charges of theft and forgery, for being in possession of and the unlawful use of Varney’s credit card.
Officials said during the investigation of Varney’s death, surveillance video of Peterson using Varney’s credit card was revealed.
According to the sheriff’s office, this lead Clallam County detectives Jim McLaughlin and Stacy Sampson to obtain a warrant for Petersen’s arrest, as well as a warrant for rendering criminal assistance for both Petersen and Dale.
