2 Girls Rescued From Frozen Lake

SEABECK, Wash. —

According to Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue, two 9-year-old girls were rescued from an island on Lake Symington in Seabeck after one of the girls fell through ice.

The two girls had gone for a walk and saw footprints on the ice and decided to see where the prints the led. During the walk one of the girls fell through the ice up to her waist, the fire department said.

The girls were able reach the island and scream for help.

According to the fire department, rescue crews were able to reach the girls by using a small fiberglass boat.

The girls were treated at the scene and released.

The fire department said Tuesday’s rescue was the second rescue on Lake Symington in the week.
